What is ionic silver? Unfortunately, most of the products sold as colloidal silver consist of ionic silver.
Colloidal silver generally refers to a suspension of extremely tiny particles of silver in water. To be more precise, colloidal silver refers to particles of silver that are larger than 1 atom and smaller than 100,000 nanometres.
Most products claiming to be high concentrations of colloidal silver (typically in the range of 30 ppm or higher) are in fact silver protein products.
Up until the present it is known that only the noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon) can exist in the form of one atom.
The concentration of a colloidal metal or colloidal mineral in a liquid is indicated by ppm which is equivalent to parts per million which in turn is equal to the number of milligrams per liter (mg / l).
Unfortunately, the silver concentration alone does not say all that much about the quality of colloidal silver. Of course, if it contains no silver at all, it will not have any effect as silver. But a high concentration of silver alone is certainly no guarantee that the product will actually be effective.
It's hard to believe but you can calculate this yourself.
Professor Ronald J. Gibbs was the director of the "Center for Colloidal Science at the University of Delaware" from 1981 until May 2000. He has published more than 85 journal articles and five technical reports, edited fourteen books and held more than 60 presentations at national and international meetings.
In contrast to the majority of the colloidal silver products, The colour of Crystal colloidal silver is an amber-coloured liquid, it is similar to the colour of dark cooled tea. It is the high concentration of silver particles and not the particle size or pollution, that determines this characteristic colour of Crystal colloidal silver.
Repeatedly we find that the information on our site and packaging does not appeal to the imagination because there is no reference data. Therefore below there are two written examples as reference criteria established by the government.
It may be that you have lately heard something about a blue-grey skin discoloration after using colloidal silver. Again this is no colloidal silver but ionic silver that is the cause of what is happening.
We will in the coming months adapt our packaging in form and material. We will also replace the glass bottles with PET bottles. To take away your concern we have the following comments.
Crystal colloidal gold has a clear ruby red colour. The liquid is clear and not cloudy at all. The colour may change a bit from light ruby red to dark ruby to purple with increasing concentration of the contained gold. At 10 p.p.m. the colour is ruby red.
